Gratitude Stew

In November we are sharing an adaptation of the folk tale Stone Soup and blending it with an original Live Paint story called Gratitude Stew. In our tale we meet a kind woman that travels the earth reminding people the importance of sharing and being kind. Participants will be invited to reflect on what they are grateful for, adding their “gratitudes” to the pot as we pretend to make a virtual stew together!

Miss Fiona’s Stupendous Pumpkin Pies

Join us for a “Not so Spooky” way to celebrate October as we tell an adaption of the beloved children’s story, Miss Fiona’s Stupendous Pumpkin Pies! In our tale we meet Miss Fiona who dresses a bit like a witch, grows her own pumpkins and makes the best pumpkin pie on the block! At the end of our event participants will be introduced to a stupendous pumpkin pie recipe to make at home and invited to share their creations on our Live Paint facebook page!

Sophie the Spider

Who says spiders are scary? In this October event we will share an adaptation of the children’s story, Sophies Masterpiece. In our tale we meet a spider who goes on a grand adventure and uses her talents to create a very special gift for a very special person!  At the end of our event audience members will be invited to create a spider craft using simple supplies you have at home or in the classroom!

Winter Tales To Share Out Loud

Join the Black Diamond Hometown Christmas Celebration as the Black Diamond Library and Live Paint celebrate the season through the sharing of cultural folktales. Our stories will be derived from the Celtic, Russian and Scandinavian traditions and will take us deep into the forest as we explore concepts of winter and light. Participants will create a craft based on a traditional Scandinavian snowflake pattern that is perfect for gift giving! Happy Winter! Happy Light!

Gather Around the Fire and Share Your Tale at the Auburn Library!

For adults.

Come for an afternoon around a pretend fire, sipping tea froma vintage teacup as we listen to each other’s stories. You may choose to listen or share.
If you’re interested, a professional storyteller and actress will help you cultivate your own personal story and craft it into a story to share out loud!

Crescent Moon Gifts Fall Faire

Join Live Paint as we take part in the Fall Faire fun at the newly located Crescent Moon gifts on 6th Ave in Tacoma! Our Live Paint event will incorporate autumnal magic as we share in the telling of the Nordic tale, THE LITTLE BOY and THE NORTH WIND and meet a kind witch that has a very important spell to share. Children will create a wand they use to help finish our event and then they take their wands home for more magic occur!

Covington Library-Trick or Treat Tales with Cindy Arnold of Live Paint

Family program, all ages welcome with adult. 
Children are invited to come in costume for this special Halloween show where you will hear the story of Sophie the Spider and make a spider puppet. The show will be followed by Trick-or-Treating around the library so bring a small bag to collect your treats!
